Overview

Diagnose patient needs and perform specific physical therapy procedures to fulfill patient treatment plan as it relates to musculoskeletal injuries and disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills the referred patient’s treatment plan and procedures;
  • Performs diagnostic exam to evaluate/assess patient needs;
  • Creates treatment plans upon the advice and consent of referring physician;
  • Evaluates patient treatment programs in coordination with the medical staff;
  • Provides services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients;
  • Supervises the services of physical therapy assistants, technicians, and aides to ensure compliance with the treatment plan;
  • Directs and supervises athletic training services;
  • Meets or communicates regularly with a variety of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to ensure successful patient treatment plan;
  • Documents evaluative findings, treatments administered, the assessment of patient response to treatment and treatment plan, and other relevant information;
  • Provides excellent customer service engaging in the use of clear, comprehensive, and frequent communication with customers;
  • Educates patients in the prevention of injuries, conditioning, and rehabilitation of injuries;
  • Other duties may also as assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Georgia state license or be license-eligible by the Georgia Board of Physical Therapy and have experience in an outpatient physical therapy environment, preferably at least two years in the orthopedic practice setting, but new graduates will be considered. 

 

Additional skills include knowledge of how to create and carry out treatment plans as prescribed by referring physicians; knowledge of documentation of care and other patient information for medical records, EMR preferred; ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and verbal communications; strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail; and demonstrated conflict management skills.

 

A valid Georgia driver’s license and driving history that meets Resurgens’ requirements is mandatory as this position requires the ability to travel between offices.
