    We are seeking a compassionate and flexible Phlebotomist for hands-on patient care position in a clinical, outpatient orthopaedics setting, at various locations in the Metro Atlanta area.

    Job Summary: Responsible for performing blood draws for our patients. Responsible for demonstrating excellence in customer service and promoting a positive, professional image of Resurgens Orthopaedics. Assists with routine departmental tasks as directed.

    This is a per diem (PRN), on call position requiring operational flexibility. Must be able to travel within an assigned Region of Metro Atlanta.  We have needs in the following surrounding cities:

    • Lawrenceville
    • McDonough
    • Johns Creek
    • Sandy Springs
    • Kennesaw
    • Austell


    Responsibilities: Performs specified venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures, to include Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) sequestration.  Monitors blood loss, and communicates to staff the blood volume processed and available to be returned to patient. Notifies physician in charge if problems occur with the procedure.. Labels the autologous product, as appropriate. Removes disposable items and cleans equipment at end of the procedure. Ensures that necessary equipment and disposable items are available for the next procedure. Reports defective equipment. Assists supervisor in assuring equipment is maintained and adequate supplies are stocked. Reports incidents and adverse reactions. May assist in training new staff.     QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualifications

    • Minimum one year experience in the health care or blood banking industry required. Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills and attention to detail required.
    • Current relevant licensure in state of practice preferred (CNA or EMT, LPN, PN, Phlebotomy, or MA).
    • Retain a current CPR certification preferred.
    • Ability to work independently, react quickly and work effectively in an outpatient setting required. Familiar with basic aseptic technique.

    Demonstrated technical skills; ability to operate medical equipment required. Must be willing to work a varied schedule. 

    May be required to have own vehicle, a valid and current driver's license and insurance and a good driving record.
