    Responsibilities include accurately assigning diagnoses and procedure codes to patient records using ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and other appropriate coding classification systems; maintains billing turn-around time at established levels.



    You will work with our providers and staff to:


    • Accurately assign diagnoses and procedure codes to patient records using ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and other appropriate coding systems and maintain billing for established turn-around times
    • Communicate effectively with physicians and staff regarding correct coding and documentation principles
    • Perform regular auditing of provider coding throughout the practice, communicate findings and provide support to the manager directly and follow up with recommendations to the manager. Perform follow up audits as necessary.
    • Monitor professional publications, payor publications, and websites to remain up to date on coding changes relevant to the practice and communicate as necessary.
    • Monitor payer and CMS websites for coding changes and reimbursement alerts.


    We are looking for you if you have

    • Certified Professional Coder Certification (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist, Physician based, Citification (CCS-P).
    • Orthopedic experience preferred
    • Must have at least 2 years experience in assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes to clinical documentation to include surgical coding.
    • Ability to understand and interpret clinical documentation and understand the department billing processes at a detailed level.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and customer service skills required.
    • Extensive knowledge of ICD 10 CM and CPT coding.
