    The Revenue Analyst is responsible for the success of assigned revenue cycle related activities. He or she will work closely with Reception Specialist, providers, and other internal roles to communicate requirements for successful claim adjudication or resubmission. This individual will employ the transparency of athenaNet to identify opportunities for root cause resolution of trends and streamlined workflows that support right person, right place, and right time. He or she will report to the AR Manager.


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Execute revenue-related activities on work assigned through the athenaNet dashboard, Tier, and/or relative Worklist
    • Filter patient balance due questions as needed, based on scope of assigned work
    • Investigate and report root cause in trends that negatively impact revenue goals or intended workflows communicated by the region; participate in resolution
    • Understand in depth the importance of “kick codes” to abbreviate claim rules, payer denials, and how they are used to direct work to resolution
    • Responsible for Surgery benefit verification, collecting surgery deposits, and posting surgical charges.
    • Share current-state information regarding processes relative to workflows, policies, processes, and division of responsibilities to internal and athena constituents
    • Support shifts in roles, core competencies and responsibilities in upstream practice-level roles, such as the Reception Specialist within the Region
    • Support a culture of change management at the regional and local practice level




    • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent in training and experience;
    • Physician billing experience necessary, and medical practice experience required;
    • 2+ years of experience with charge entry and appointment scheduling software;
    • Knowledge of coding and reimbursement guidelines, medical terminology and HCFA regulations required;
    • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures;
    • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of staff and customers;
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
    • Strong facilitation and influencing skills; confident and articulate; and
    • Desire and commitment to delight internal customers and patients
